Infamous oversharers Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are at it again, inexplicably posting footage of Teigen stewing in filthy bathwater.
On second thought, it does make sense: the Instagram post managed to get a lot of attention.
Teigen addressed her vocal fans after appearing in the video, shared on her husband’s Instagram on Monday, where she was seen soaking in brown bathwater.
“What is happening here?” the singer-songwriter asked, filming his model wife as she scrubbed her body in the grimy tub full of beef stew-like liquid.
Her response makes it clear the footage was a misguided ad. Teigen explained that she was removing all her body makeup using a washcloth and an exfoliating cleanser from Legend’s skincare brand, Loved01. Legend then pans to show a tube of his cleanser on the rim of the garbage disposal-looking tub.

As the model and influencer submerged herself in water that visibly turned to a sewage-hued brown from her self-tanner, Legend’s Instagram followers quickly filled the comments section to express their disgust.
“IDGAF if it is makeup. It looks dirty,” one fan correctly noted. “That dirty ass water wtf,” a second fan added. “It’s not too late to take this cringe down,” yet another fan advised.
“Damn she needs to let that dirty water drain before posting on social media,” a fourth follower chimed in.
Other fans wondered why the intimate footage was shared in the first place.”This could’ve stayed in John’s phone,” one follower observed. Another fan agreed, adding, “not everything is meant for social media!!”
Meanwhile, Teigen was at the ready with a response to folks not taking kindly to her brown bathwater stew. “The water is dirty because I’m getting my body makeup off, like I said in the video my sweet angels!” she quipped in the comments.
Of course, this led to other fans taking up for Teigen and Legend’s choice to share footage of her in the stomach-turning liquid.
“She literally says that she’s getting her body makeup off. That’s makeup. Not dirt,” a brave fan wrote. ““Ppl r so judgy leave her alone,” another Legend follower added.
While the power couple’s choice to post the footage seems odd, one can’t help but wonder what the response would’ve been if the post lacked the brown bathwater. It seems that’s what really put the post over the top with the public. Score another social media victory for team Teigen.
