During a May 23 appearance on Variety‘s Just for Variety podcast, Arjona, 32, shared that she and Powell, 35, both developed rashes while filming a bathtub scene.
It seems a crew member had added dishwashing soap to the water.
That strips you of all your oils of your skin,” Arjona explained. “That’s used for baby ducks when there’s an oil spill, for God’s sake”.
“And it’s on this bathtub. We soaked in this bathtub for an hour and I get out of the tub and all of a sudden I dry myself and I can’t bend my knees because I have no oils,” she added.
“My skin is just stretched out. Oh my God, I was in so much pain. I have a rash everywhere. [Meanwhile] Glen is trying to take care of me. Then he turns around and I’m like, ‘Glen, you have the exact same rash, dude. I don’t know what to tell you,’ ” she recalled.
Glen Powell and Adria Arjona’s Rashes Had to Be Covered For Their Other Steamy Scenes
Arjona revealed that they had makeup applied to their rashes so they could film all of their sex scenes for the rest of the movie on the same day.
“All of them with a crazy rash,” she told the outlet. “So it looks so sexy, but we were both in so much pain. We would just die laughing like, ‘How much makeup do you have on your ass right now?’ I was like, ‘So much it’s not even funny.'”
In Hit Man, Glen Powell stars as Gary Johnson. He’s a professor who secretly works as a fake hitman for the New Orleans Police Department. During an undercover operation, he becomes romantically interested in Arjona’s Madison, a criminal he is trying to catch.
“Throughout this sequence of filming those sex scenes it was just— we keep saying we had so much fun and I think people were taking it in a different direction,” Arjona admitted.
“We had fun because it was so funny, we were both in pain with makeup all over this rash and it was just as funny. We were like, ‘I can’t believe this would happen to us, the day of these scenes.'”
