Moore appears to have stirred some attention by daring to like an Instagram post poking fun at Carrie Underwood’s performance during Trump’s inauguration on Monday.
Observant fans quickly spotted that the 40-year-old actress and singer had liked a post shared by Evan Ross Katz. The post featured Underwood, 41, singing an a cappella rendition of “America the Beautiful” due to a technical snag.
The photo captured former Vice President Kamala Harris standing behind Underwood, appearing unimpressed as she sang.
Eagle-eyed internet users quickly spotted that Grande had also liked the controversial photo.

Of course, the comment section to the post became something of a virtual battlefield, with fans from all sides weighing in.
“‘Kamala: oh, that note was a little under,'” one user joked about Harris seeming underwhelmed. “‘Chilling’ is a good word,” another onlooker added about the VP’s nonplussed demeanor. “Thankful I didn’t watch bc this looks painful,” a third person chimed in.
Another set of fans noted how Grande and Moore quietly doubled-tapped the heart for the image. “Ariana liking this is funny,” one wordsmith noted. “ARIANA what are you doing here?” another user wondered, adding a laughing emoji. “Oh, I didn’t realize we were back in 2004 when Mandy Moore had anything interesting to say. A blast from the past,” one X user, who apparently skipped This Is Us, wrote.
Meanwhile, others focused on Underwood’s performance. “Sis was everywhere except on key,” one expert vocalist insisted. “Carrie Underwhelm,” another user bemoaned.
However, many users felt Underwood stepped up under pressure.
