Sources close to the Los Angeles Police Department shared with TMZ that officers were called to the Terminator star’s home on Thursday, Nov. 28, after someone reported a bomb was placed inside his mailbox.
However, after the officers rushed to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s residence and searched the mailbox, they did not find the explosive.
TMZ’s sources stated the responding officers spoke to Schwarzenegger’s on-site security about the situation. They were told that it was “virtually impossible” for a bomb to be placed at the residence. This is due to the round-the-clock security and video surveillance in and around the property.
TMZ further reported that Arnold Schwarzenegger wasn’t at his LA-area home when the swatting incident occurred. Instead, he was at a nearby gym working out.
Sources close to the actor stated he was grateful that officers came to the house to check on the situation, especially on a holiday.
No arrests have been made.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Passed Out More than 1,000 Turkeys Days Before the Thanksgiving Swatting Incident
Days before the swatting incident, Arnold Schwarzenegger was seen handing out turkeys at the Hollenbeck Youth Center in Los Angeles. While speaking to Fox 11, the 77-year-old actor stated, “Giving back, to me, is everything.”
Schwarzenegger, who has been passing out turkeys at the youth center for 30 years, was joined by True Lies co-star Tom Arnold for the special event. The duo handed out more than 1,000 frozen birds.
“I had such a great time,” Schwarzenegger also shared with the Boyle Heights Beat. “It made me feel so good that every year since then, I’ve been doing this.”
He then continued, “To me, it’s a great, great pleasure to donate the turkeys again… because I know this whole season is about sharing,” he continued. “I love America, and America greeted me, as an immigrant, with open arms.”
Arnold Schwarzenegger further recalled his first Thanksgiving in America. “When I came to America in 1968, I didn’t even know what Thanksgiving was,” he explained. “People from the gym just came to my empty apartment, and they brought sheets, silverware, dishes and, food and a radio.”
He added, “The generosity of the American people was so extraordinary. I’ll always remember those things.”
Tom Arnold also spoke about participating in the youth center event. “As we were pulling up, I said to my daughter, ‘It looks like a Taylor Swift concert,’” he joked. “People are lined up around the block. It’s a good feeling. It’s good to be involved in this sort of thing for so many years. We have a lot of fun and appreciate the Hollenbeck folks.”
