Refusing to hold back, Brooke Shields revealed that a doctor once performed intimate surgery on her without her consent.

While promoting her new memoir, Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old: Thoughts of Aging as a Woman, Sheild spoke to Us Weekly about one of her most traumatic moments involving a dishonest doctor.
The incident happened in her 40s when her gynecologist asked her if the length of her labia ever caused her discomfort. This included bleeding and chafing. The doctor then told her about a reduction procedure she could have done to fix her labia.
“Of course, it’s not covered by insurance because it’s considered cosmetic,” Shields wrote. “Which is very interesting. The last time I did check, I did not want to be a porn star,” Shields explained. She also said she had “heard about porn stars” doing the procedure for aesthetic purposes.
Shields also apologized to her book’s readers if they found the story “too graphic or simply TMI, as some generations call it,” but she noted that her intentions to share the story were pure.
“I’d be lying if I said I’m not embarrassed to share this very intimate information,” she stated in the book. “But, if we are to change the way we approach and talk about women’s health, then we need to bring up the uncomfortable but very real issues. Shame is no longer an option.”
Brooke Shields Recalled Her Doctor Stating He ‘Threw in a Little Bonus’ While Performing the Procedure
While continuing to open up about the procedure and the aftermath, Brooke Shield recalled her plastic surgeon telling her that he “threw in a little bonus.” She had received a rejuvenation, or vaginal tightening, without her consent.
Shields stated it felt like “such an invasion — such a bizarre, like, rape of some kind” for her.
“[He was] legitimately proudly explained to me that he, you know, threw in a little twofer,” Shields told the media outlet. She admitted to being “dumbfounded” by the surgeon’s remarks.
“Nothing pointed toward this need to be tighter or smaller or firmer or younger, especially there,” Shields continued. She pointed out that both she and her gynecologist were enraged.
While speaking about the “bonus procedure” she received, Shields stated she neither wanted nor needed the “irreversible” procedure and didn’t want to discuss it. She felt both “shame” and “anger.”
She also noted that she didn’t tell her husband, Chris Henchy, about it for “the longest time.”
However, despite how she felt, Brooke Shields didn’t seek legal action against the surgeon. “I thought, I don’t want anybody else telling me what I have to do,” she added.
