Among the details is a shocking timeline of events leading up to her unexpected death in a North Carolina park. Internet personality Robbie Harvey took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the strange incidents between Mica and her husband John-Paul Miller that occurred over the past few months.
On Feb. 4, John-Paul, who was pastor of Solid Rock Church in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, preached a sermon on Korah and Moses and how it’s wrong to rise against religious leaders. This potentially was directed at Mica, as she previously filed for divorce last fall. However, the case was closed in Feb. 2024.
On Feb 25, Josh-Paul spoke to his congregation about a mentally ill person not knowing they were sick. “You have to trust people around you,” he said. “The thing that’s sick is your mind and your mind is what you need to realize that you’re sick.”
While preaching to the congregation on March 10, John-Paul said he went through two years of messages on Mica’s phone. He said he found 18 people had reached out to her to say she could talk to them about him. He notably appeared to be visibly upset, stating “That’s a demon talking…”
On the same day, John-Paul said that Mica was recently hospitalized and after she was released, she left him. “She gets out and she just leaves. Just completely leaves me. Leaves everything, drains the bank account, and just goes.”
On March 12, John-Paul’s request for spousal support was dismissed without any explanation.
The Sister of the Pastor’s Wife Warned Her to ‘Keep an Eye on Her Phone’ For Fear of Her Safety
Days later, he shared a story about a pastor whose wife left him for a member of his staff. The pastor had hired a third-party company to find her and once she was found, divorce papers were drawn up. He pointed out that the pastor refused to divorce his wife and said, “Bible says divorce is wrong…” and if the pastor’s wife wanted out she would have to leave him.
Following John-Paul’s story about the cheating pastor’s wife, Mica’s sister Sierra posted on Facebook asking her to keep an eye on her phone for fear of her safety due to other behaviors towards her. She mentioned the story John-Paul told and called out the Solida Rock Church congregation.
A day later, Mica stated in a video she was making sure her heart didn’t have any unforgiveness, bitterness, or resentment. All she wanted was just forgiveness and hope for the future as well as peace.
Mica posted another video a few days later. She stated while God hates divorce, she wondered what God thought about abuse. She also suggested that John-Paul had forced her to take illegal drugs.
On April 16, Mica filed for spousal support, with a hearing scheduled on June 5. She was dead less than two weeks later at Lumber River State Park in Lumberton, North Carolina.
One day after Mica’s body was discovered, John-Paul told his congregation that she died and it was “self-induced” before talking about her mental health again.
John-Paul Miller Was Relieved of His Pastor Duties at Solid Rock Church Amid Authorities Investigating His Wife’s Death
Meanwhile, ABC15 reported that John-Paul Miller was released from his duties as pastor of Solid Rock Church amid the investigation into Mica’s death.
The media outlet reported that the church had sent a notice to its members on Sunday revealing Pastor Miller was released from all ministerial functions. It was noted that he was released “for a time of healing, counsel, and guidance, pursuant to our governing instrument.”
Along with Miller’s departure, the Solid Rock Church’s website was suspended, with its link now predicting to a webpage that reads, “This account has been suspended.”
The pastor previously told ABC15 that his wife’s cause of death was suicide. “She had struggled with suicide before. However, law enforcement officials have yet to release the official cause of death. Mica’s friends and family grew suspicious of John-Paul after he announced Mica’s death during a church service.
