Earlier this month, Schwallier’s friend surprised her tickets to see Drake at Bridgestone Arena. Music is my favorite, and concerts are my happy place, so I was ready to go celebrate and have a good night. I saw him in 2018 and he puts on the best show. I was like, ‘next time he comes I’m going to be down on that floor.”
However, she didn’t expect what happened next. during the show, Drake encouraged the crowd to brighten someone else’s day. She held up a sign that read, “Just finished chemo, and on the other side, no mo chemo.” Other concertgoers quickly scrambled to get Drake’s attention.
Drake declared on stage that Schwallier was a “true soldier” and gave her $100,000. “Without almost any hesitation,” she gushed. “He was just so gracious, and it goes to show that God is working through him.”
Schwallier went on to add that the rapper encouraged her to give back more. “I’m forever grateful.”
