Famed television host Gayle King is one of the more mature models featured in this year’s edition of the magazine. King admits that when she was first asked to do the shoot, she thought it was a prank. But now that it has become a reality, she says it is one of the highlights of her career.
“It wasn’t something I dreamed about,” King said to PEOPLE. “But it was one of the highlights of all the things I’ve done because I never thought this would be possible.”
Gayle King Slammed Over Controversial Caitlin Clark Comments
This past spring, Coach Dawn Staley and the University of South Carolina foiled Caitlin Clark’s plan to become a national champion after they defeated Iowa in the National Championship Game.
In a recent interview with news analyst Gayle King, King mentions to Staley that most people were rooting for Iowa to win because of Clark. However, NBA champion Stephen Jackson took exception to that claim.
“So, Gayle King’s supposed to be somebody that’s big in the journalism space, right? And I don’t consider her Black media. Y’all give her all these passes because she’s Oprah’s friend. I don’t give a f–k whose friend she is,” Jackson said via his social media account.
“But you cannot demean Dawn Staley like that. You’re talking to her about winning the championship, about going undefeated. And you have the nerve to get on there and say, ‘We was rooting for Caitlin Clark and you broke everybody’s hearts.’
Comedian Gets Candid on Oprah and Gayle
Famed comedian Mo’Nique has never been one to mince words. So during a recent stand-up show, the star of The Parkers reignited her beef with talk show host Oprah Winfrey.
During her rant, the comedian seems to insinuate that the relationship between Gayle King and her best friend is more than platonic.
“Every time you see f–king Oprah, you see f–king Gayle,” the comedian said in a video obtained from TMZ. “Best friends is what they say. I’ve never seen best friends like that … Who is loving Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King? Each other.”
However, the comedian prefaced her comments about Oprah saying that she has “love” for her.
