On the first episode of Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up, Ryan heads to the Chillicothe, Mo., prison to pick up Gypsy on her release day. At this point, Gypsy had spent eight years in jail after pleading guilty to the second-degree murder of her mother.
After her release, Gypsy and Ryan stayed in a hotel together, with plans to see her family the next day. When asked by producers about her alone time with her then-husband, Gypsy replied that it was “great.”
“We got to love on each other,” she said. With a laugh, she added, “We got to consummate our marriage.”
“We did get to do that,” Ryan confirmed. “She was so nervous.”
Additionally, Gypsy got to experience a ton of other “firsts.” For example, one scene shows her learning how to use a cell phone and text people.
“This is my first cell phone,” she told Ryan, laughing.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Ryan Anderson End Their Marriage After Prison Release
Gypsy and Ryan originally married via a jailhouse ceremony during the summer of 2022. However, since her release and the filming of her show, the two have separated.
Many sources quote various reasons for their split, such as Ryan allegedly getting aggressive and Gypsy feeling smothered.
In fact, they lived together for about three months before calling it off, which was likely an adjustment for someone who just got released from prison.
Now, Gypsy is allegedly with her ex-fiancé Ken Urker, who is also set to appear in the later episodes of Gypsy’s new series. The two were spotted hanging out soon after Gypsy announced her separation from Ryan. Sources even photographed.
Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up will be on every Monday night at 9 p.m. ET.
