In a post on Instagram, Blanchard shares a video of her doing an in-home ultrasound. While using a fetal doppler, she finds the heartbeat. “There it is!” she declares to the camera as she smiles ear to ear.
In the post’s caption, Gypsy Rose Blanchard wrote, “Hearing our baby’s heartbeat with a home doppler. Leave gender predictions on my poll.”
Blanchard announced on her YouTube channel she and her boyfriend, Ken Urker are expecting their first child earlier this month. The news came just a little over six months after she was released from prison and a few months after she and her estranged husband Ryan Scott Anderson split.
In her announcement, Gypsy Rose Blanchard revealed she was 11 weeks along. “This was not planned at all,” Blanchard stated. “It was completely unexpected, but we’re both very excited to take on this new journey of parenthood.”
Gypsy Rose was in prison for eight years for her involvement in the 2015 murder of her mother, Dee Dee. She and Urker were previously engaged but called it quits in 2019.
Gypsy Rose and Anderson got married in a prison ceremony in 2022. They were together when she was granted parole and released at the end of 2023.
She filed for divorce in April and confirmed her relationship with Urker weeks later.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Ken Urker’s baby is due to arrive in January 2025.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard Says There Will Be Parole Restrictions for Ken Urker When Their Little One Arrives
Just after she told the world about her big news, Gypsy Rose Blanchard spoke to PEOPLE about her pregnancy journey so far.
She shared that she let her parole officer know that she was pregnant immediately after finding out. Her stepmother Kristy stated that Gypsy Rose and the baby will likely have to live at her home until her parole ends in 11 months.
Gypsy Rose also explained that Urker will have to travel and forth between homes to care for their child for a few months, due to her parole restrictions.
“He’s going to have to stay at my parents’ house for a couple of days and vice versa. But until I’m off parole, I can’t move in with him or us get a house. So, we’ll have to work around that schedule.”
She then addressed the negativity from others about the pregnancy. “But listen, I understand where the public is coming from,” Gypsy Rose shrugged. “I think every parent questions whether they’re ready.”
“I’m currently in therapy for my sanity and my mental well-being and I checked all the boxes to make sure I’m stable,” she says. “All I can say is that I have a strong support system, and Ken and I are in a very good place.”
