Recently, reports surfaced that Blanchard reunited with her former fiancé, Ken Urker, during her split from her husband, Ryan Scott Anderson.
Ken Urker’s mother, Raina Williams, told People that the duo had lunch and visited a tattoo parlor shortly after Blanchard publicly announced her breakup from Anderson. Bobby Pitre, Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s cousin, and the parlor owner, verified that they both got tattoos during the visit.
“They are not back together,” Williams told the outlet. “They’re very cool. Ken is just being a supportive friend to her and that’s it.”
“I think she’s a sweet girl,” Williams continued. “I think she’s made her mistakes and she’s trying to learn from them like anyone else. And I care a lot for Gypsy and I want to see good things happen for her.”
Ken Urker’s Mother Believes Her Son’s Intentions Are More Pure Than Gypsy Rose’s Estranged Husband
On Tuesday, Williams told TMZ that her son’s motivations are pure. Meanwhile, the outlet claimed she perceives Ryan as untrustworthy and believes he lacks the care for her that Ken demonstrates.
Williams mentioned to People that she and her family empathize with Gypsy Rose Blanchard. They viewed Mommy Dead and Dearest around the same period and discovered Blanchard’s story through the documentary. After watching, Urker penned a letter to Blanchard while she was in prison in 2018.
“He asked me before he wrote the letter and I thought it was a great idea just to show the girl that people out there her age can sympathize,” Williams recalled. Urker and Blanchard got engaged but later broke up while she was still in prison.
The pair’s recent gathering, where they both got tattoos, occurred shortly after Gypsy Rose Blanchard revealed her separation from Anderson, a special education teacher from Louisiana whom she married while still in prison in 2022. The tattoo shop was the same one where Blanchard had previously gotten inked, with Anderson by her side.
“My son has never had any kind of ill intentions towards Gypsy,” Williams told the outlet. “It devastated him when they broke up the first time. But he truly thought that was what was best for Gypsy.”
Blanchard admitted to second-degree murder in 2016 for conspiring to kill her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, alongside her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn. She was released in 2023 after serving eight years of her 10-year sentence. Godejohn, who committed the murder, was convicted of first-degree murder and given a life sentence.
