Grammy Award winner Kelly Rowland was supposed to co-host NBC’s Today Show on February 16. But a discrepancy over her dressing room led to the famed singer refusing to go on the air, leaving the set. Despite the dressing room drama, Today Show host Hoda Kotb says she would welcome Rowland back to sing with open arms.

“I just wanna say this, I have great love and admiration for Kelly Rowland. I adore her. And I want her to come back on our show, and I want her to host again,” she said.
“She can share my dressing room! We’ll be in it together! Anyway, I just wanted to say that we love her. We’ve loved her on this show for many, many, many years.”
Today Show Anchor Gets Honest on Dressing Rooms
There was an issue over the size of Rowland’s dressing room being too small that ultimately made the singer leave the set. And although it may seem like a small issue to some, Today Show co-anchor, Savannah Guthrie says that the dressing rooms could stand a little improvement.
“What can I say? Yes, our dressing rooms need a little TLC. But I have to say, we have a historic studio that has been around for 70-plus years. It’s a small space and it’s not that easy to renovate. So, you know, I totally get it,” Guthrie said.
“I’ve actually gotten to see a lot of green rooms lately and there are some phenomenally beautiful ones. But I hope for what we lack in green room decor we make up for in the warmth and gratitude we have for the guests who come on because it means a lot to us. Let’s call it intimate. We’ll call it intimate. Cozy.”
Reality Star Slams Kelly Rowland
Guthrie understands Rowland’s gripe over her undersized dressing room. But not everyone agrees with the R&B singer. Others like Bethenny Frankel believe that the situation was blown way out of proportion. Frankel accused Rowland of having “diva expectations,” based on her personal experience in visiting the set.
“Your dressing room is the size of a closet, and you’re trying to fit all your people in the clown car. And you know what? You’re so excited, so gracious. You’re co-hosting on the ‘Today’ show — an institution in entertainment, a news organization that is not about fancy dressing rooms.,” Frankel said.
“That was not the moment for diva expectations.”
