Brazilian influencer Ricardo Godoi has sadly died after being given a general anesthetic during a full-back tattoo procedure. The 45-year-old enlisted a tattoo studio to create the massive design and according to The Daily Mail, arranged for a private hospital equipped with the necessary tools, staff, and medication to complete the process.

On Monday, he reportedly suffered cardiac arrest while at a hospital in Itapema, a coastal town in the southern state of Santa Catarina.

Godoi, a successful entrepreneur known for importing and selling luxury sports cars such as Ferraris and Lamborghinis, is survived by his wife and children. Authorities have launched an investigation into his death, which remains ongoing.
The tattoo studio owner, who was set to ink the influencer, reportedly shared their thoughts on the tragedy.
“What happened was that, at the beginning of the sedation and intubation, he went into cardiac arrest,” they explained, per The Daily Mail. “That occurred before they even started tattooing him. He was quickly checked and a cardiologist was called in to try to revive him, unfortunately without success.”
They said Ricardo was both a valued client and a close friend, and the studio deeply mourns his loss.
Meanwhile, a death notice was shared on Godoi’s Instagram account on Tuesday. It featured a black-and-white image of the Instagram-famous star. In it, he strikes his signature pose, sitting on a sports car, pointing up while gazing at the heavens.
“It is with great regret that we inform you about the death of Ricardo Godoi,” the post began. “At this painful moment, we show solidarity with his friends and family, wishing them strength and comfort to overcome this unbearable loss.
“Let Ricardo’s memory be remembered with affection and respect by those who had the privilege of knowing him,” the post added.
The Tattoo Studio Issues a Statement Following the Death of Ricardo Godoi
The tattoo studio where the influencer had scheduled his appointment released a full statement following the news of his passing.
“Ricardo was going to have a full back tattoo done with us under general anesthetic, sedation, and intubation,” they wrote.
“To do this, we hired a private hospital. [They had] all the staff, equipment, and anesthetic drugs necessary for the safety of the procedure. We also hired a doctor with a specialism in anaesthesiology and experience in intubation. [Their] documentation was approved by the hospital,” the studio continued.
“Blood tests were requested beforehand, which showed no explicit risk in carrying out the procedure. Ricardo signed the consent form regarding the risk of the procedure,” they added.
