During a back-and-forth between some critics on X (formerly Twitter), Jason invoked Butker’s controversial Benedictine College graduation speech after one critic stated he looked like he “doesn’t wash his feet and legs.”
Responding to the critic, Jason Kelce wrote, “What kind of weirdo washes his feet…”
Fans and critics alike responded to the statement, with one fan claiming a study found “more bacteria on those who actively washed their legs/feet” while bathing. “Let ‘em know from the rooftops,” Kelce responded.
Jason Kelce went on to joke, “All of you have been fed diabolical lies that washing every crevice of your bodies and hair, all the time is somehow better or healthier. Any dermatologist not in bed with Big Soap will agree!! Hot spots are all that is necessary and actually leads to cleaner healthier skin.”
Jason Kelce used “diabolical lies,” which Harrison Butker stated during his graduation speech. The Kansas City Chiefs kicker used the remark while sharing his views on abortion, in vitro fertilization (IVF), surrogacy, and the LGBTQ community.
It didn’t take long for fans to notice Jason’s remark. “’Diabolical lies’ is an…interesting turn of phrase I think I’ve heard somewhere before,” one fan wrote.
Another added, “A lot of people missing the jokes here lol.”
Travis and Jason Kelce Previously Addressed the Backlash Harrison Butker Received After His Infamous Graduation Speech
During the May 24 episode of New Heights, Travis and Jason Kelce discussed the backlash Harrison Butker received following his now-infamous graduation speech.
Although he said that Butker is a great person and a great teammate, Travis said the kicker’s views are just his. I can’t say I agree with the majority of it or just about any of it,” Travis said.
“Outside of just him loving his family and his kids. And I don’t think that I should judge him by his views, especially his religious views, of how to go about life, that’s just not who I am.”
Jason Kelce shared his thoughts by stating a lot of things Harrison Butker said in his speech are not things he aligns himself with. “To me, I can listen to somebody talk and take great value in it,” Jason said.
“Like when he’s talking about the importance of family and the importance that a great mother can make, while also acknowledge that not everybody has to be a homemaker if that’s not what they want to do in life.”
