Nearly two years after marrying Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez reveals she has forgiven her husband for the heartbreak he caused her.

In her new Amazon Prime documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told, Lopez had a heart-to-heart discussion with Affleck about their past.
“I think I was angry at you for a long time,” Jennifer Lopez explained to Ben Affleck, per PEOPLE. “But that heartbreak set both of us on a course to figuring ourselves out to being better people. I think I’ve forgiven you all the way. I think I need to forgive myself [for] some things.”
Lopez and Affleck first met on the set of their 2002 film Gigli. They got engaged later that year and were originally set to get married in September 2003. However, after postponing their wedding due to “excessive media attention,” the couple ultimately called it quits.
After the relationship ended, Jennifer Lopez went on to marry Marc Anthony while Ben Affleck married Jennifer Garner. Eventually, both marriages ended and the duo reconnected. They got engaged in April 2022 and were married a few months later.
The Greatest Love Story Never Told, which will premiere on Amazon Prime this Tuesday. It will give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Jennifer Lopez’s new film This Is Me… Now: A Love Story.

Earlier this month, Jennifer Lopez spoke to Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe about her relationship with Ben Affleck.
“I knew in my heart that I wanted to be with him for the rest of my life,” Lopez explained. “I knew that. But it didn’t feel like we were going to make it. And so it scared me.”
Jennifer Lopez further pointed out that she and Ben Affleck weren’t “mature enough” to handle their relationship the first time. “Even though he was in his late 20s, I was in my early 30s, it still, it wasn’t… we weren’t ready to deal with,” she continued. “And look at each other and go, what we have is real, we need to buckle down, we need to do some work. We just weren’t there yet.”
Lopez also confirmed that she and Affleck did not break up right after postponing their 2003 wedding. “It happened over the series of the next few months,” she revealed. “Because what it did was it cast doubt in me, and both of us, about what our relationship was and where it was going, I think.”
