Johnny Depp Once Admitted He Had ‘Loads of Cavities’
Despite his former unflattering smile, Johnny Depp once admitted he liked his yellow teeth.
During an interview with Premiere Magazine in 1995, Depp stated that he had some dental issues. “I’ve got loads of cavities,” he shared, per Daily Mail. I had a root canal done eight years ago that’s unfinished. It’s like a rotten little stub.”
However, he also said he liked his teeth, despite their imperfections. “It’s like when the Indians would make something beaded, they would always put imperfections on it. I’m proud of these.”
He further stated that people with “perfect teeth” would drive him nuts. “’When I see people with perfect teeth, it drives me up the wall. I’d rather swallow a tick than have that!”
The actor’s interviewer also gushed at the time about how he managed not to have foul-smelling breath, despite his dental condition and years of smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol.
While his teeth were far from perfect, Depp still used fake dentures for his icon role as Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
