“Johnny Wactor — an actor best known for appearing in nearly 200 episodes of “General Hospital” — has died, TMZ has learned. Wactor was shot and killed in downtown Los Angeles early Saturday morning, his mother Scarlett tells TMZ,” TMZ wrote.
Johnny Wactor Killed During Attempted Car Robbery
According to Johnny’s mother Scarlett, the actor has been hanging out with a co-worker that night. When they returned to his car, Johnny and the co-worker spotted three men messing around the car.
TMZ also notes that the authorities involved with the investigation have not officially named Johnny as the victim, the description is on par with an incident where three suspects attempted to steal a catalytic converter.
“She says Johnny was with a coworker when they saw three men messing with Johnny’s car. While authorities haven’t released his name, this matches the description of an incident where three suspects allegedly tried to steal a catalytic converter,” TMZ added.
Wactor Didn’t Get Aggressive During Robbery
Even more disturbing is that Johnny’s mother says that he never got aggressive during the encounter. But still one of the men shot him before leaving the scene. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
“Scarlett says she was told Johnny didn’t try to fight or stop them. But, the men shot him anyway before taking off. According to police info, paramedics rushed to the scene just after 3 AM PT. He was pronounced dead at the hospital,” TMZ added.
“Police have not provided a description of the suspects … but, Johnny’s mother says she hopes they’ll be found quickly.”
Wactor appeared on General Hospital for more than 200 episodes before his character was written off in 2022.
