On June 14, a new photograph of Kate Middleton was released, marking her first public appearance since her emotional cancer diagnosis announcement in a video this past March.
The image captures the royal outdoors in Windsor, where she resides with Prince William and their three children. Casually dressed in jeans and a blazer, Kate stands with her arms folded, exuding grace and resilience.
The photo was taken by Matt Porteous, the photographer behind many family pictures of Princess Kate and Prince William.
The Princess of Wales also shared a statement with the image, providing a health update after announcing her cancer battle earlier this year.
“I am making good progress,” Kate wrote on X. “But as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.”
She added, “My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home.”
“[I] hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet,” she admitted.
She explained that she is learning to be patient with her condition, taking each day as it comes and adapting to the challenges. Kate concluded by expressing her gratitude for the overwhelming love and support.

Meanwhile, Middleton joined King Charles’ birthday parade on June 15. After arriving at Buckingham Palace by car with her family, she rode in a horse-drawn carriage with her three children: Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
Middleton, in a white dress and Philip Treacy hat, traveled with her kids in the historic Glass Coach, used since 1881 for royal brides. Since marrying Prince William in 2011, Kate has joined Trooping the Colour annually, except in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
