In a hilarious clip from Live with Kelly and Mark this morning, Kelly Ripa admitted she had “performance anxiety” in the bathroom before her set.

In fact, she revealed she “almost didn’t make it out here, literally,” to her co-host/husband Mark Consuelos and her audience.
Apparently, right before the show started, she misheard producers, believing she still had 15 minutes when really “they actually said 15 seconds.”
“So I was like, I’m going to use the restroom,” she said. “And everyone’s like, ‘Where’s Kelly? Where’s Kelly?’ And you know how you get performance anxiety? You know what I mean?”
“Yes, I do know that very well,” Consuelos said.
“So now imagine people waiting outside and you’re listening to them count down how many seconds until the show, and you’re like, ‘Please! Please!'” Ripa said.
“But you made it,” Consuelos declared.
“Kind of, yeah,” Ripa joked as the audience erupted in a round of applause.
Kelly Ripa Continues ‘Live with Kelly and Mark’ After Experiencing ‘Performance Anxiety’ in the Bathroom
After Ripa’s performance anxiety in the bathroom, the two co-hosts discussed the weather. In fact, they noted that a thunderstorm is set to hit New York City just in time for the weekend.
“Give me my rain on the weekends, that’s what I say,” Ripa joked.
She then pointed out the fake cityscape backdrop behind her. “Because when we’re in this building — by the way, this is not a real window, and that is fake outside,” she quipped.
However, she revealed that her aunt sometimes falls for the fake backdrop. In fact, she’s even told Ripa that she “sees people moving” in the background.
“She sees people moving. She can see them moving back there,” she explained. “And I go, ‘Well, no, you can’t, because there aren’t any. It’s a picture.’ But, you know, we see what we choose to see when we choose to see it.”
“Perspective is everything,” Consuelos said.
