On June 7, the hosts of Live with Kelly and Mark celebrated their first joint Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host. However, they were unable to accept the award in person as they were visiting their daughter, Lola, in London, where she has resided since graduating from NYU.
The couple delivered their acceptance speech belatedly on the June 10 episode of Live. Consuelos mentioned that he woke up in the early hours of Saturday to a text message from Jerry O’Connell.
“He said, ‘Hey, if you guys win, can I give the acceptance speech.’ I said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘Who do you want to thank?’ I said, ‘Thank Ryan Seacrest,'” Consuelos recalled. Naturally, he is alluding to Ripa’s former co-host, who left Live in April 2023 after a six-year tenure.
When Ripa woke up, her husband shared the news with her. She was so disoriented that she responded by asking, “For what?”
“We weren’t there to give our speech but I’m going to give a brief acceptance speech. I just want to say, first and foremost, thank you, Mark, for being an incredible, incredible partner. You make it look easy and it is not easy and the ease at which you do this job inspires me and all of us every single day,” Ripa said.

Ripa also gave a nod to the adored fan club, her Live viewers.
“You make us feel like Emmy winners every day, which we are certainly not,” she gushed. “But we owe it all to you. So thank you very much.”
“That was good,” Consuelos blurted before going into a speech of his own.
“I would have said, my dad always told me to marry somebody who’s better than you and try to work with people who are way better than you as well. So I’ve done both those things,” he explained. “So thank you. Thank you for holding me up. I appreciate it.”
He then quipped that his wife is the Tom Brady of daytime TV, with six awards over her two-decade run on Live. The couple then pondered how winning still feels special, even after all those trophies.
“It means everything to us,” Ripa insisted. “I always wanted to win a daytime Emmy as an actor. I was nominated once. I think it was like a mercy nomination. But it’s so — it’s so cool. It’s still hitting me that we did that. It’s very, very, very cool.”
