Kendji Girac, who is known as the season three winner of The Voice France, is reportedly in serious condition after shooting himself.

According to the BBC, the singer told authorities that he shot himself while handling a pistol he purchased from a junk shop. He purchased the weapon over the weekend.
The incident took place near a reception area of a traveler community camp located in Biscarosse, which is about 30 miles from Bordeaux.
The singer was transported to a hospital in Bordeaux, where he was placed in serious condition. However, despite the condition, BBC reports that Girac’s life is no longer considered in danger.
Kendji Girac was scheduled to perform in Marseille this Friday in celebration of the upcoming Olympic flame. However, following the shooting, the event’s organizers stated the singer would no longer be performing due to his injury.
A man called Emilio, who is said to be Girac’s uncle, stated that it wasn’t a “gangland” shooting. “It’s an accident. he was playing with the things and ‘bam’”
Speaking out about the incident, French TV host Cyril Hanouna also said, “We are all shocked. We love him, he’s a great guy, incredibly kind, always smiling, always ready to help.”
Kendji Girac, whose real name is Kendji Maille, grew up in the Catalan Gypsy community. He is known as the “poster boy” for the French Gypsy community.
Since his The Voice days, Girac has released five studio albums. He has also appeared on the judge’s panel for The Voice Kids Frances.
Sources revealed that police have not ruled anything out in their investigation.
A BFM Report Reveals Kendji Girac Was Shot in the Chest
According to the Daily Mail, a BFM report revealed that Kendji Girac was shot in the chest during the incident.
“Kendji Girac was hit by a bullet in the chest,” the report states. “With an exit point in the back.”
It was further reported that the gun was kept in the caravan and was confiscated by police forensics experts. They are to carry out ballistic tests on the weapon.
Girac was reportedly placed under armed guard at a secure medical unit. Olivier Janson, the state prosecutor in Mont-de-Marsan, confirmed a “criminal inquiry” has been launched. Janson also stated, “No theory for what happened is being ruled out.”
A source close to the investigation then said, “There are already plenty of mysteries associated with this inquiry. A very large police team is in the camp, but they are not currently getting much help from those living there. Many refuse to speak to police.”
Girac was also said to have been at Biscarrosse for several days with his partner several days before the accident. There haven’t been any incident reports prior to Girac’s shooting.
