We all know Kesha’s infamous song, Tik Tok (no, not the video app). The intro lyrics of the track include:
“Wake up in the morning feelin’ like P. Diddy / Grab my glasses, I’m out the door, I’m gonna hit this city / Before I leave, brush my teeth with a bottle of Jack / ‘Cause when I leave for the night, I ain’t coming back.”
Amid Diddy’s ongoing sex trafficking allegations, Kesha has decided to change the lyrics of her 2010 hit, Tik Tok, from “Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy” to “Wake up in the morning like f—k P. Diddy.”
Kesha first modified these lyrics during her surprise performance with Renee Rapp at Coachella. Both singers also raised their middle fingers in the air, making the crowd go wild.
Then, at LAX airport, a photographer from TMZ asked Kesha whether this lyric change would be permanent.
“Yes, it will be, so the fans should learn it for my upcoming shows,” she said matter-of-factly. “I want to hear it louder than ever. I stand by that.”
“I’m not the kind of person that just shuts the f—k up,” she said. “I know what I stand for, I know my integrity is rock solid, so I speak the truth. And the industry can kind of like suck my d—k.”
Kesha Changes Diddy Lyrics in ‘Tik Tok’ Track
Going forward at future shows, Kesha plans to stick to her new “Tik Tok lyrics” of “Wake up in the morning like f—k P. Diddy.” As an ongoing advocate for sexual violence and assault victims, as well as a victim herself, Kesha remains outspoken on the matter.
Diddy didn’t comment on the diss track, seeing as he has bigger fish to try. The rapper is facing serious allegations and federal raids on his mansions.
“There was a gross overuse of military force as search warrants were executed at Mr. Combs’ residences,” attorney Aaron Dyer told Us Weekly in a statement. “There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated.”
