In a preview of next week’s episode of The Kardashians, Kim reveals that she was called to do jury duty during her birthday week. Despite being asked to fulfill her citizen obligations, the reality TV star made it her goal to celebrate her birthday without any scheduling conflict.
That was when Kim Kardashian jokingly said maybe her connection to former family friend, O.J. Simpson, could get her out of jury duty.
“I feel like there’s some kind of O.J. connection that could get me out of jury duty,” Kim declared. She then laughed and said, “Ha! Just kidding!”
Kim didn’t get out of jury duty, but she was still able to celebrate her birthday. The reality star had a private gathering at Funke restaurant in Beverly Hills. Among the big event’s guests were her famous family, Hailey Bieber, Kimora Lee Simmons, Lauren Sanchez, and Ivanka Trump.
O.J. Simpson and his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson were close friends with Kim’s parents, Kris Jenner and Robert Kardashian.
Robert Kardashian made headlines while serving as one of the former NFL star’s lawyers when he was charged with murdering Nicole and her friend Ronald Goldman on June 12, 1994. Kris was not supportive of O.J. during his “Trial of the Century,” as she was a closer friend to Nicole.
After he was acquitted of the murders, the friendship between O.J. and Robert seemingly deteriorated. Kim Kardashian’s father died from cancer in 2003.
O.J. Simpson died on April 10, 2024, from prostate cancer. He was 76 years old.
Kim Kardashian’s Mom Kris to Participate in Upcoming Lifetime Docuseries About Nicole Brown Simpson
Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian’s mom, Kris Jenner, will be participating in the upcoming Lifetime docuseries The Life and Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson.
Jenner, Faye Resnick, and Brian “Kato” Kaelin will reportedly speak about their friendships with Nicole. Brown Simpson’s sisters Tanya, Dominique, and Denise Brown are also part of the docuseries.
Denise recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the docuseries’ key purpose.
“There’s a whole new generation to educate when it comes to the issues of domestic violence and things that happened to Nicole,” she said. “I asked my sisters, Dominique and Tanya, ‘What do you guys think?’ and we all agreed that this probably is the last time that we will do something, the three of us together, for our sister. Something that we are going to be proud of, something that’s going to last a lifetime for us.”
The docuseries will premiere on June 1.
