Admirers of the longtime law student have taken to social media to request she represent Mangione in his upcoming trial.
“Kim Kardashian needs to get Luigi pardon,” one fan wrote on X. “And then put him in a Skims campaign.
Another fan requested that someone contact Kardashian to help Mangione.
“He cannot go to jail,” they wrote.
Kardashian has been in law school since 2018. That same year, she began a four-year apprenticeship at a San Francisco law firm focused on criminal justice reform. She has publicly spoken out about the Menendez Brothers and previously met with Gypsy Rose Blanchard.
The reality TV star also helped Alice Marie Johnson get a pardon from President Donald Trump during his first term.
Mangione was arrested on Dec. 9 at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, less than a week after he allegedly shot the UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson outside the Hilton Hotel in New York City.
He has been charged with one count of murder, two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, one count of second-degree possession of a forged document, and one count of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
The Accused UnitedHealthcare Shooter’s Attorney Speaks Out About Bizarre Outburst Outside Courthouse
Just after Mangione had a public outburst outside a Pennsylvania courthouse earlier this week, the accused UnitedHealthcare shooter’s attorney spoke out about the incident.
While outside the Blair County Courthouse in Hollidaysburg, Mangione was heard yelling at a group of reporters.
“It’s completely out of touch and an insult to the intelligence of the American people,” Mangione yelled. “And the lived experience!”
Thomas Dickey, who is representing Mangione, stated he grew “irritated” because no attorney was present to support him as law enforcement dragged him into the building.
“He’s irritated, agitated about what’s happening to him and what he’s being accused of,” Dickey explained to CNN. “He never had any legal representation until he walked into that building [on Tuesday, Dec. 10].”
Dickey said he was at the courthouse at the time and was able to calm his client down.
“Look at the difference between when he went in and when he came out,” Dickey pointed out. “Now he has a spokesperson and someone that’s going to fight for him.”
During his appearance on CNN’s Erin Burnett Out Front, Dickey said he was skeptical about the NYPD’s evidence against Mangione. He said he wanted to view the fingerprint and the gun ballistic evidence himself.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch stated bullet casings found at the scene matched the gun that Mangione was carrying when he was arrested.
“First, we got the gun in question back from Pennsylvania,” Tisch added. “It’s now at the NYPD crime lab.”
