Sources close to the reality TV star spoke to PEOPLE about her being done with the drama with Swift. This was just days after many speculated that Swift’s diss track thanK you aIMee is referring to Kardashian. The song is a bonus track for Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department album.
“She’s over it and thinks Taylor should move,” the source said about Kim. “[She] doesn’t get why [Swift] keeps harping on it. It’s been literally years.”
In the song, Swift sings, “All that time you were throwin’ punches, I was buildin’ somethin,’/ And I can’t forgive the way you made me feel / Screamed ‘F–k you, Aimee’ to the night sky as the blood was gushin’ / But I can’t forget the way you made me heal.”
Taylor Swift’s diss track surfaced just eight years after the feud with Kim Kardashian first started. Although the duo had been cordial for years, things took a turn when Kardashian’s now ex-husband Kanye West reached out to Swift and asked if he could reference her in his single Famous.
Although Swift initially agreed to allow West to reference her in the song, she didn’t approve of the lyrics “I made that b— famous.” She denounced the line and stated she was never told about it.
Kim Kardashian released an edited version of the phone all between Kanye West and Taylor Swift. The move caused some backlash towards Swift, with many critics calling her a “snake.”
Swift referenced Kardashian in the music video for her hit song Look What You Made Me Do. At the end of the music video, Taylor is dressed in a fur-clad look while taking a series of selfies. She then stated she was “getting receipts” so she could “edit them later.”
Kim Kardashian Previously Stated Everyone Had ‘Moved On’ From the Feud With Taylor Swift
Years after the infamous phone call incident, Kim Kardashian stated that everyone had moved on from the feud with Taylor Swift.
“Over it,” Kardashian said about the feud while appearing on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in 2019. I feel like we’d all moved on.”
However, Taylor Swift seemingly stated that she wasn’t quite over what Kim Kardashian and Kanye West had done to her in 2016. In an interview with ELLE, Swift spoke about the things she had learned while nearing the age of 30.
Among the lessons was learning that “disarming someone’s petty bully” can be as simple as learning how to laugh.
“In my experience, I’ve come to see that bullies want to be feared and taken seriously,” Swift explained. “A few years ago, someone started an online hate campaign by calling me a snake on the internet. The fact that so many people jumped on board with it led me to feeling lower than I’ve ever felt in my life.”
She then stated, “It would be nice if we could get an apology from people who bully us, but maybe all I’ll ever get is the satisfaction of knowing I could survive it, and thrive in spite of it.”
Sources recently shared that Kim Kardashian has never apologized to Taylor Swift for the phone call scandal. Since the debut of thanK you aIMee, Kardashian has lost well over 120,000 social media followers.
