TruMoo announced the arrival of the beverage on X (formerly Twitter). “Entering the atmosphere near you—for a limited time only—TruMoo Blue Milk,” TruMoo began in the caption of the video. “The Star Wars rebels in your life will love this low-fat, vanilla-flavored milk.”
The blue milk, available in half-gallon sizes, can be found in the dairy aisles of select retailers across major markets, according to USA Today. This vanilla-flavored, low-fat milk will be on sale for a limited time, until supplies run out, through July.
‘Star Wars’ Has a Full, Calcium Rich History of Luke Skywalker Drinking Odd Colored Milks
Luke Skywalker famously drank blue milk served up by his Aunt Beru in the original 1977 Star Wars (later retitled Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope). It’s been something of a pop culture fascination for Star Wars fans ever since. The beverage is even served at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney parks.
Of course, Star Wars has a rich history of Luke Skywalker drinking oddly colored milk. Though the OG blue milk from A New Hope is Luke’s most famous beverage of choice… there is another.
Perhaps the most controversial installment in the franchise’s history, 2017’s The Last Jedi, sees an elderly, reclusive Luke return to the series. In one sequence, he milks a strange alien that produces green milk. The jaded Jedi then chugs it down, disgusting the series’ new central hero, Rey.
Luke drinking green milk directly from the teat of a bizarre alien has become something of a symbol to fans who didn’t enjoy The Last Jedi. In the film, Luke is a much different character than he was in the original trilogy. He is a recluse that wants nothing to do with heroism.
Luke actor Mark Hamill also believed the character was vastly different in The Last Jedi. He urged fans to think of him as “Jake Skywalker” in that installment.
Regardless, the green milk Luke sucks down will live forever in the minds of fans. Who knows, maybe Luke Skywalker’s green milk is the unpasteurized version of the blue milk Aunt Beru served up all those years ago.
No word on whether TruMoo has any plans to offer this green milk variant.
