On Tuesday, Feb. 20, MGK shared a snapshot of his new body art, which fully covers his former torso tattoos. “For spiritual purposes only,” he captioned the post.
The tattoo artist behind the body art, R O X X also shared a photo of Machine Gun Kelly’s tattoo, noting he made “some art” with the rapper. “Never met a tougher one,” he said about the famous client. MGK commented, “Thanks for the joy and the pain” and added the blackout tattoo required a total of 44 needles.
Not long after Machine Gun Kelly posted the image, Instagram followers responded with praise and criticism towards the tattoo.
“I wish u didn’t do that. I loved ur tattoos,” one Instagram user wrote. “I hate when people comment on tattoos (I have 15) but I feel like this is a cry for help. You continuously keep doing dramatic drastic things to erase who you were in the past it seems like. Idk man. I love u but this is a lot.”
But some Instagram users didn’t quite understand the purpose of the tattoo. “When you leave your kid unattended with the black marker…,” an Instagram critic declared.
Another added, “Ok I can’t defend this guy anymore.”
Randomly, Tiger King star Joe Exotic, who is currently in prison, somehow got on Instagram to share his opinion about the body art. “A tiger and a bit of meth and you would be mine. Lol.”
Fan Shares a Different Perspective of Machine Gun Kelly’s Blackout Tattoo
Meanwhile, a big fan of Machine Gun Kelly gave an interesting perspective on why the rapper would go with a blackout tattoo.
“Sometimes people purge things out of their lives to start fresh,” the fan, under the user name Colsons_Back, explained. “I get why he deleted his IG posts and also why he did the black cover up. I’ve been knowing since XXmas show when I saw him follow the tattoo artist’s page. I just kept it on the down low so he can get the respect he deserves to keep something to himself.”
The fan then wrote that the negative opinions about the tattoo are irrelevant. “Only good vibes here. We love MGK as an artist. Can’t the haters tell by how many fan pages are here rooting him on along with the fans. MGK you are blessed and we love you. Ignore the background noise.”
