Law enforcement insiders told TMZ that the burglary took place in the early hours of Saturday, June 29. Although Marlon wasn’t there at the time, his brother Keenan was in the home.
The sources also told the media outlet that the thieves snuck into Marlon Wayans’ backyard and broke a back window to enter the house. While he was awakened by the strange noise, Keenan didn’t realize what was happening and decided to go back to sleep without investigating.
Authorities stated Marlon’s housekeepers arrived at the house hours later to discover it was burglarized. Keenen was reportedly shocked by the situation. The thieves notably stole a safe and several thousands of dollars.
While the police have launched an investigation into the burglary, no arrests have been made. Along with Marlon Wayans, other celebrities in the Los Angeles area who have dealt with a burglary recently are ex-NBA star Patrick Patterson and Utah Jazz player Talen Horton-Tucker.
Marlon Wayans Calls for Peace Between Drake and Kendrick Lamar Following Rick Ross’ Assault
Days after his home was burglarized, Marlon Wayans devoted his energy to another situation. He called for peace between Drake and Kendrick Lamar after Rick Ross was assaulted this past weekend during the Ignite Music Festival in Vancouver.
The assault occurred after the event’s DJ started playing Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” which angered Drake fans in the audience. Following an exchange of words, a fan took a swing at Ross and hit him in the face. His crew was also assaulted.
Responding to the news, Marlon Wayans addressed the hip-hop community and declared enough was enough. “It’s all fun and games until people start getting hurt,” he wrote. “Remember this, HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF!”
Referencing the infamous conflict that resulted in the deaths of his friends Notorious BIG and 2Pac, Wayans stated, “I knew Tupac, I knew Biggie. I partied with them, hung out with them, saw them both 20 minutes before they got shot. Violence is real. Everyone can be touched. Don’t entertain the devil.”
Addressing all those involved in the Lamar/Drake situation, Marlon Waynes said there’s enough for everyone to eat.
“Walk away from b——,” he advised. “With peace, with love, with positivity. Life is short… even shorter if you spend your energy on breaking each other down instead of building each other up. Hate seeing any of our kings at war. We are too few. STOP!”
