The film company responsible for the biopic has rejuvenated key elements from the era when Jackson possessed the 2,700-acre ranch close to Santa Barbara. The Ferris wheel, merry-go-round, and circus tent have all received vibrant restorations.
TMZ reported that on Friday, filming ramped up with camera crews ready and extras fully immersed in their roles as balloon vendors, ride operators, and food stall attendants.

In December 2020, billionaire Ron Burkle acquired Michael Jackson’s Neverland for $22 million, a significant reduction from the asking price by nearly $80 million. Burkle became a financial adviser to Jackson following their meeting at a mid-2000s event for underprivileged children.
Formerly the residence of the King of Pop, this Santa Ynez Valley ranch in California drew its inspiration from J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan, boasting an amusement park and zoo on its grounds.
Jackson notably enhanced the property with fantasy elements to delight his young visitors. However, several alleged victims accused him of abusing them at the ranch.
After the police raided the ranch and charged the King of Pop with seven counts of child molestation, the property fell into disrepair. Despite his acquittal, Jackson swore he would never set foot in Neverland again.
The Current Owner Had Plans to Rebuild Michael Jackson’s Neverland
After buying the property, Burkle planned to rejuvenate it by fixing the woodpecker-damaged train station. He also planned to repair roads and restore the train line to working condition.
After the petting zoo was reacquired, a variety of animals were reintroduced. However, Michael’s renowned pet chimp, Bubbles, has resided at the Center for Great Apes sanctuary in Florida since 2005.
Years after his passing at 50, the pop icon continues to be a significant figure in pop culture. He’s celebrated for his impressive legacy of work despite a complex legacy marred by controversies, including allegations of child abuse.
In the forthcoming biopic titled Michael, Jackson’s nephew, Jaafar, is slated to portray his late uncle. The film is expected to drop in 2025.
