Additional royal photos have been labeled “digitally enhanced” by a major photo agency after Kate Middleton admitted altering a family image.

Getty Images sounded the alarm on the royal family portrait featuring Prince Archie’s christening in July 2019. The image stars not only Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s little one but also Prince William, Kate Middleton.
Getty labeled the portrait at Windsor Castle “digitally enhanced” without explaining the method, even though there were no visible signs of manipulation in the image.
The portrait was snapped by fashion photographer Chris Allerton, who flat out shut down any rumors of tinkering with the image. “Load of cobblers. Bye,” Allerton insisted to the Daily Mail. Anglophiles know that a “load of cobblers” is slang for rubbish.
Allerton’s photo shows a glowing Harry and Markle holding their baby boy, surrounded by their extended family – King Charles, Camilla, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, and Princess Diana’s sisters.
Another Royal Portrait Taken by Kate Middleton Has Been Flagged
Meanwhile, a 2023 photo of Queen Elizabeth II with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was also flagged as “digitally enhanced at source” by Getty. This photo is also attributed to Middleton.
Buckingham Palace released an older image on April 21, 2023, commemorating what would have been the queen’s 97th birthday. Similar to Princess Kate’s recent admission of “editing” a photo with her children, the 2023 image was attributed to the princess, known for her photography hobby.
The snapshot supposedly taken at Balmoral Castle, Scotland, in August 2022, unravels a web of inconsistencies under the magnifying glass. These include a noticeable distortion in the queen’s plaid skirt. There also appear to be misalignments in different sections of a sofa, and a blurry edge around Prince Louis’s neck.
Kate Middleton Already Apologized for Altering a Previous Photo
Getty’s recent statements about Kate emerged amid rumors about her well-being. This was partially triggered by changes in the March image with her children.
Of course, the commotion began on March 10th, coinciding with Mother’s Day in the UK. William and Middleton posted a photo on social media.
The image showcased the princess, who had been absent from public view since her abdominal surgery in January, alongside their three children: 10-year-old Prince George, 8-year-old Princess Charlotte, and 5-year-old Prince Louis.
Almost instantly, observant internet users spotted numerous obvious Photoshop issues. However, Middleton apologized the next day on social media.
“Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused,” the princess wrote on X. “I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C.”
Of course, the altered image deepened the mystery surrounding Middleton’s health. Earlier this year, Kensington Palace revealed that Kate Middleton had undergone a planned procedure. They reported that she wouldn’t make a public appearance until at least April.
