With two and a half minutes left in the game, Beverley was seen throwing a ball at a female Indiana support, who was sitting a few rows behind the Bucks’ team benches. After the ball was passed back to him, Beverley decided to throw it once again. This time it hit a man in the midsection.
Bucks players were seen grabbing Patrick Beverley to avoid more conflict between him and the Pacers fans.
Following the game, Beverley took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his thoughts about the incident, stating there’s more to the story than what the video showed.
“Not Fair at all,” he stated. “Exchanged between a fan and our ball club all night. We wanted and asked for help all night. Not fair.”
He went on to add, “But I have to be better. And I will.”
Charles Barkley spoke on NBA on TNT about the altercation between Patrick Beverley and the Pacers fans. He pointed out that the NBA star could be suspended for a portion of next season due to the sideline situation.
“Listen, I’ve done stupid stuff and I got criticized,” Barkley stated as he spoke about Beverley. “That’s just wrong. He’s gonna get suspended for that. And that’s gonna be a good one, too. ‘Cause he didn’t do it once. He did it twice.”
Patrick Beverley Snaps At Female Reporter Following Game 6 Loss
However, Patrick Beverley’s antics continued after the game when he became combative with a female reporter.
TMZ reports that while inside the Bucks’ locker room, he kept pushing her microphone away. “If you could move that mic, please, or just get out of the circle, please, for me, please, ma’am,” he declared. “if you’re not subscribed to my pod.”
After she departed from the locker room, Patrick Beverley said, “I appreciate it, thank you.”
The reporter, later identified as Malinda Adams, took to X to share her thoughts about the incident with Beverley. She wrote that he did apologize for the locker room exchange.
“I want to thank everyone for their kind words and support,” she stated. “I am humbled. Patrick Beverley just called me and apologized. I appreciate it and accept it. The Bucks also reached out to apologize. I’ve been in news for over 40 years and kindness and grace always win.”
