While celebrating Father’s Day, Mulaney posted and quickly deleted a photo of him eating a baked potato with his and Munn’s 2-year-old son Malcolm. Although it’s an adorable photo, many followers saw the silver band on the Saturday Night Live alum’s ring finger.
John Mulaney deleted the photo and replaced it with an image of him and Malcolm playing with bubble wrap on the floor. The ring no longer appears in focus.
Many fans took to Reddit to share their thoughts about the photo. “After going to rehab, getting divorced, and then immediately having a baby with someone else, I feel like John Mulaney having a secret wedding isn’t really that surprising tbh,” one Reddit user wrote.
Another pointed out that a secret wedding between John Mulaney and Olivia Munn wouldn’t be surprising after the actress announced she was diagnosed with breast cancer. “I assume they both assessed where they were at the time and what may happen and just did it with little fanfare.”
A fellow fan noted the news wouldn’t be scandalous as well. “I don’t know the timeline of his previous divorce in terms of whether it’s finalized, obviously, there must be something there or they would’ve just made it public but they already have a kid so it would really not be an enormous different next step for them to get married.”
Olivia Munn and John Mulaney were romantically linked in 2021. This was not long after the comedian announced plans to divorce his first wife, Annamarie Tendler.
In September 2021, Munn and Mulaney announced they were expecting their son. He was born a few months later. Mulaney and Tendler’s divorce was settled in 2022.
Before John Mulaney, Olivia Munn Admitted that Marriage Made Her ‘Nervous’
One year before she started dating John Mulaney, Olivia Munn admitted she was actually nervous about getting married.
“I never have ever been that girl [who dreamed about her wedding],” Munn explained during an appearance on The Big Ticket with Marc Malkin podcast. And I’ll hear about friends who have, and I’ve just never been the person that’s like, ‘Oh, I can’t wait to get married. This is what it’s going to be like, what my ring would be.’ I don’t really have any of those.”
Olivia Munn continued to explain her thoughts. “The idea of getting married has always made me a little … It gives me … I don’t know what that word is for … I’m like, ‘It’s hot in here, right?’ It’s like, ‘Really?’ … Yeah, I just feel like to pick one person forever.”
Munn went on to say that she doesn’t find weddings interesting. “The weddings I have gone to, I do find boring. I always think this is interesting at weddings,” she added. “I feel like the wedding part is really for whoever’s marrying them because you only see the backs of your friends’ heads.”
