A Boeing jet hit severe turbulence, killing one and injuring at least 30. The Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore had to make an emergency landing in Bangkok.

Flight tracking data shows flight SQ 321 dropped 6,000 feet in a matter of minutes from its cruising altitude after crossing the Bay of Bengal.
On board, there were 211 passengers and 18 crew members. One of them unfortunately passed away during the incident.
A passenger, 28-year-old student Dzafran Azmir, told Reuters news agency that the aircraft suddenly began to tilt upward and shake.
“So I started bracing for what was happening, and very suddenly there was a very dramatic drop so everyone seated and not wearing seatbelt was launched immediately into the ceiling,” he said.
Additionally, “Some people hit their heads on the baggage cabins overhead and dented it,” he continued. “They hit the places where lights and masks are and broke straight through it.”

According to the airline, 31 people went to the hospital with injuries from the flight.
Allegedly, “The remaining passengers and crew are being examined and given treatment where necessary at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok,” the airline stated.
Furthermore, Singapore’s Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat released a statement on Facebook regarding the devastating event.
“I am deeply saddened to learn about the incident onboard Singapore Airlines flight SQ321 from London Heathrow to Singapore,” he wrote.
Additionally, a journalist shared a video on X of the aftermath of Flight 321 from London. The Boeing jet appeared visibly damaged, with the entire cabin destroyed. Many people commented that the scene looked like it was straight out of a horror film, with blood splattered all around.
“Those poor passengers and crew. That must have been terrifying. Prayers for the deceased passenger and the injured people,” one person wrote.
“I will never unbuckle on a flight ever again,” another added.
