Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce began dating pop star Taylor Swift last year. There is no doubt that Kelce is a celebrity in his own right. But Swift is perhaps the most famous person ever. And as a result, the coverage around the Chiefs and the NFL as a whole has ballooned.

There was some concern about Swift being welcomed into the NFL family. Some were worried that the increased coverage surrounding Swift would become a distraction. And thus take away focus from the actual game.
But Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes isn’t complaining. He believes that she played a role in him becoming a cover star for TIME magazine.
Patrick Mahomes Gets Honest on Taylor Swift
“She was like the TIME Person of the Year a couple of months before that, so it’s really cool to be on the cover of TIME,” Mahomes said.
“And it does help when your best friend and your homie’s dating the most famous woman in the world,” he added referencing his “homie” Kelce’s relationship with Taylor.
Kelce has also reaped the benefits of his relationship with Taylor. After he began dating her, he got the opportunity to host Saturday Night Live. He was also just named the host of a new talk show, “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?.”
Jason Kelce Talks ‘Overwhelming’ Swift Experience
Travis’ brother Jason Kelce is the starting center for the Philadelphia Eagles. After the Eagles were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs, Jason became a fixture at Chiefs games, supporting his brother. Naturally, he has become very familiar with Taylor over the past few months. But Jason said experiencing being around Swift at the Super Bowl, really put into perspective all of the things the pop star has to deal with.
“I think this was my first, really, understanding kind of some of the things she has to deal with on a lot of bases,” Jason said.
“There were so many star-studded people there. Everyone wants to come see her. The suite’s only so big. It was overwhelming, to be honest with you. I was going out of the suite to talk to Keegan-Michael Key, his wife, and a bunch of people. The celebrity attendance at the game was unreal.”
