Among those tastemakers is Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes. Brittany showed off some of the candids from the upcoming magazine, and according to PEOPLE, Patrick most definitely approves.
“After Brittany, 28, posted new photos from her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit debut on Instagram, Patrick, also 28, shared a sexy shot of his wife to his Instagram Stories,” PEOPLE wrote.
“The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback showed his approval of the glamour shot by adding three heart-eyes emojis to his story.”
Patrick Mahomes Sounds Off on Sports Illustrated Feature
For Brittany, this is her first time being featured in the issue. But she is a part of a talented rookie class. Other first-timers being featured in the publication are plus-sized model Hunter McGrady and noted television analyst Gayle King.
Brittany could not help but gush over being featured in this year’s issue.
“What an absolute dream to join the incredible @si_swimsuit family. I’m so grateful for the amazing team of women who give us this incredible platform to be our truest most authentic selves,” she said.
Mahomes also says that she hopes that being part of the issue can feed her ultimate goal of empowering other women.
“I’m so thankful and honored and so excited to be here with this team. I want women to feel empowered to always be yourself, love yourself, and feel confident in whatever you do, and I think SI Swimsuit does, too.”
Kate Upton Gets Candid on Mental Health
Sports Illustrated put a unique spin on the famed issue this year. 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of the swimsuit issue. So the publication featured an additional 52 celebrities. Many of whom were previously featured in the issue.
The bit is called 60th Anniversary Legends. One of the featured models is famed cover girl Kate Upton.
When speaking on her upcoming feature Upton spoke about how she wants to help push the conversation about mental health.
“There’s still further we could go in the mental health conversation, especially with social media,” Upton said.
“Everyone is now opening themselves up to all this criticism and wants to portray this perfect life and putting pressure on [themselves] to have it all: be a perfect mom, wife, student or [employee]. That creates so much anxiety and social pressure that I think more people need to talk about mental health.”
