Pete’s fans are defending him after he was heckled onstage Friday with one joke left during his Prehab Tour. Despite his no-phone policy at the show, attendees still found a way to speak over him. This caused him to abandon his set early.
One fan, influencer Katelin Stivers, spoke out about the matter in a YouTube video recorded after returning home from the show.
“Where the f–k did decorum go at events? Because he shouldn’t have had to walk off stage because … you think every comedian now needs to be heckled to the point that they leave stage with one joke left,” Katelin said.
“It’s just absolutely absurd. You’re ruining it for the whole show.”
Fans Defend Pete Davidson For Walking Off the Stage After ‘Relentless Heckling’
Katelin went on to say the Pete Davidson heckling struck pride in many of the audience members. In fact, hecklers were bragging about their behavior after the show. One of the hecklers’ girlfriends, however, was clearly embarrassed by her boyfriend’s actions.
“[Pete] didn’t deserve that,” Katelin said. “He didn’t deserve that one bit.”
“We don’t get comedians with that kind of platform too often that stand up for women’s rights,” she continued. “And then you guys just heckle them off-stage … because you need your little main character moment.”
Many people — including fans who were at the Omaha show — commented on Katelin’s video.
“I was at this show, and unfortunately ended up sitting by one of the women being a problem,” one person said. “It was embarrassing to say the least. Disappointed Nebraska didn’t allow him to feel respected enough to finish his set. Definitely embarrassing for Omaha, and sad that has to be his last taste of our city.”
“Well said, not a huge Pete fan, but you are 100% right,” another person commented. “He shouldn’t have to deal with that nonsense and people shouldn’t ruin the shows in their attempt at 15 minutes of fame.”
