Another frightening airplane incident has gone viral on social media. This time in Bangalore, India. The plane had to make an emergency landing shortly after takeoff.

The reason? Because one of the airplane’s engines was on fire, according to Fox 13.

Plane Engine Catches on Fire In India
“Passengers aboard an Air India Express flight can be heard screaming on video as one of the aircraft’s engines caught fire Saturday night, forcing the plane to make an emergency landing,” Fox 13 wrote.
“The flight aboard an Airbus A320 had just taken off from Bangalore and was heading to Cochin International Airport in Kerala when the terrifying incident unfolded.”
Airline Releases Statement Following Incident
Following the frightening incident the airline released a statement saying that the pilot “elected” to proceed with the emergency landing once the plane caught ablaze.
“Due to suspected flames from the right engine after takeoff, the Bengaluru- Kochi flight elected to return and carried out a precautionary landing at Bengaluru,” the airline said in a statement.
The airline also notes that no injuries were reported in the aftermath of the incident.
“Ground services also reported flames, resulting in an evacuation. The crew accomplished an evacuation with no injuries to any guests,” the statement adds.
“We regret the inconvenience this has caused and are working to provide alternative arrangements for our guests to reach their destination as soon as possible.”
In addition, the airline noted that they will do a “thorough” investigation of the plane’s regulator. This is to investigate what exactly caused the engine to catch on fire.
“A thorough investigation with the regulator shall be accomplished to establish the cause,” they said.
Delta Plane Catches Fire in Washington
This is the second recent incident where a plane has caught on fire. The first one happened in the United States. On May 14 A frightening moment that occurred on a flight to Washington from Mexico went viral. Delta Airlines Flight 604 had landed only moments before the plane burst into flames, according to PEOPLE.
“The nose of a Delta plane burst into flames on Monday, May 6 due to an electrical malfunction, the airline confirms,” PEOPLE wrote.
“Delta Flight 604 had just landed at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in Washington from Cancun when the incident occurred. The Airbus A321neo aircraft was carrying 189 passengers, two pilots and four flight attendants, according to the airline.”
