According to the Daily Mail, the 9th Earl of Spencer has tapped Fiona Shackleton to represent him amid divorce proceedings from Karen Gordon. The couple married in 2011 and separated earlier this spring.
The media outlet further points out that Shackleton was known as “a demon negotiator” back when she represented the now King during his bitter 1996 divorce with the Earl’s sister, Diana.
Shackleton also represented the king’s brother, Prince Andrew, during his divorce from Sarah Ferguson in 1996. She has worked with other celebrities throughout the years, including Sir Paul McCartney and Madonna.
The media outlet further reports that Shackleton is charging Spencer more than £550 per hour for her services.
Charles Spencer opened up to the Daily Mail about his divorce from his wife of 13 years. “It is immensely sad,” he explained. “I just want to devote myself to all my children, and to my grandchildren.”
He went on to add, “I wish Karen every happiness in the future.”
Spencer and Gordon share 12-year-old daughter Charlotte Diana. The Earl has six children from his first two marriages. He was with his first wife, Victoria Lockwood, from 1989 to 1997 and his second wife, Caroline Freud from 2001 to 2007.
Gordon has two other daughters with ex-husband and Hollywood producer, Mark Gordon.
Charles Spencer Supports Prince Harry During His Lawsuit Against Mirror Group Newspapers
Charles Spencer is making time to support his nephew Prince Harry. The royal is now dealing with the Mirror Group Newspapers in court.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Spencer called out the Daily Mail’s Amanda Platell for questioning if Prince Harry is “still obsessed” with his ex, Chelsy Davy. She revealed that the royal mentioned Davy 118 times in court evidence. She further noted that Harry only mentioned his wife Meghan Markle five times. “No wonder Meg’s didn’t show!” Platell added.
To which, Charles Spencer declared in his post, “Pathetic, Amanda Platell – you have no shame, and even less credibility. Last time I heard from you, you were guilty of libeling me, as your employer at Daily Mail agreed. Now you’re put up (by them?) to misrepresent significant legal evidence as if it was something trivial.”
A context message has been added to Platell’s post, stating that Prince Harry’s MGN claim is restricted to 1996 to 2011. He had dated Davey from 2004 to 2009 and he met his wife Meghan in 2016.
“Amanda Platell was also a Mirror executive during the period the Claimants allege that executives knew about and concealed unlawful information gathering,” the context added.
Prince Harry claims that roughly 140 Mirror articles published from 1996 to 2010 contain information obtained through unlawful methods.
“Every single time one of these articles was written it had an effect on my life,” The royal stated. He then said that it was concerning how Mirror outlets would release details on his travel plans.
