Despite a woman rushing to turn off the escalator and others trying to stop the brawl, the trio continued to fight. Eventually, a pair of sheriff deputies officers broke up the fight. Jim Jones, who let go of one of the men, was heard yelling, “It’s two of them against me.”
The man Jones was holding appeared to be beaten up badly, with blood all over the place. The other man was seen struggling to get out of the police officer’s grasp. More deputies showed up to stop the man from getting away.
Speaking to TMZ about the incident, Jim Jones stated, “I was minding my business and defended myself. They got what they were looking for.”
Jim Jones Recently Had An Incident With Fellow Rapper Dave East on Valentine’s Day
Months before the airport escalator brawl, Jim Jones had another public conflict by reportedly ruining Valentine’s Day dinner for fellow rapper Dave East.
According to Page Six, East went out to see R&B singer Jon B perform at Soho House on Valentine’s Day. However, things took a turn when he discovered that Jones, his girlfriend Chrissy Lampkin, and his entourage had already taken over his table.
Sources told the media outlet that East was not happy with Jim Jones. He even allegedly asked, “Why is he sitting there? We were here before anybody else.”
East eventually became impatient with one of the venue’s staff members trying to fix the situation. “It’s way too packed in here,” he declared. “And I’m not standing in this crowd. What am I supposed to do – just stand here? Nah, we out.”
East’s lady companion was also heard trying to ask for another solution. However, he grabbed her by the hand and the duo were seen leaving the venue.
Jim Jones and Dave East have worked with each other over the years. In 2020, Jones released Pardon My Thought, featuring East.
The lyrics read, “Pardon, I’m still collectin’ my thoughts/ From all the nickel-and-diming, and the oppression I fought/ Felt better when I hit the dealer and I left in a Porsche/ Shorty not the type that you can, press or extort…”
