On the Today Show Monday, the IF actor was pressed by host Savanna Guthrie about the name of the mysterious child, born last year.
“Taylor Swift keeps dropping it into lyrics so just tell us this: Is the fourth child’s name, the baby’s name anywhere on the new record?” Guthrie asked.
“She’s been wondering if were going to have to wait for another song,” fellow host Hoda Kotb noted.
“We always wait for Taylor to tell us what the child’s name will be,” a bemused Reynolds shot back.
“We’ll say this,” he continued. “We’re still waiting, so Taylor, let’s maybe start. You know, (she’s a) prolific writer. I mean, what are we doing here? And lazy’s not a word I’d attach to Taylor.”
Swift is renowned for embedding Easter egg hints within her music, suggesting the possibility that Reynolds and Lively’s fourth child’s name is among the various names mentioned in The Tortured Poets Department.
However, for the time being, it seems Ryan Reynolds is fine keeping the info to himself.
Another Rumor Has Started to Swirl Concerning Taylor Swift and Ryan Reynolds
Meanwhile, another bit of Taylor Swift speculation is swirling around Ryan Reynolds. In Ryan’s next outing as the Merc with the Mouth, Deadpool and Wolverine, which features the heroes jumping to alternate cinematic dimensions, there’s a multitude of variant Deadpools.
This raises the strong possibility of Lady Deadpool popping up onscreen. In the comics, Lady Deadpool is an alternate version of the character, obviously female and featuring blonde hair. Many fans were clamoring for Blake Lively to take on the role. Sadly, the chance of Lively playing the part seems all but shot down.
However, it still seems likely that the character will at least cameo. If it’s a small part, what better way to create buzz than to quietly cast the most famous blonde alive, Taylor Swift in the role?
Of course, not every Deadpool fan would be thrilled with the decision. Still, they might want to shake off the bad blood and accept the possibility, or else it will be a cruel summer when Deadpool and Wolverine drops in June…
