While speaking to TIME, Gomez stated after being single for a while, she was considering the idea of adopting in a few years. “I was alone for five years and I got really used to it,” she explained. “A lot of people are afraid of being alone and I probably tortured myself in my head for like two years being alone, and then I kind of accepted it.”
Selena Gomez said if she didn’t meet someone by the time she turned 35, she would go through the adoption process. However, she didn’t expect her friendship with Blanco to ever be romantic. “It just happens when you least expect it.”
While Blanco has been open about wanting to have kids with her someday, Gomez said she’s taking her time when it comes to the future.
“I know what people can do to people I love. My own fans, who I adore and feel like have shaped who I am, will say the most hurtful things to me about how I live my life,” Selena Gomez pointed out. “But he has the strength in him that none of that noise fazes him.”
Gomez then said, “It’s really impressive, and I just cherish every moment with him. I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know that he’s not going anywhere any time soon.”
Gomez and Blanco were first romantically linked this past summer. However, the actress didn’t go public about the relationship until late 2023.
Benny Blanco Recently Shared His Thoughts About Proposing to Selena Gomez Soon
Selena Gomez’s TIME interview surfaced just days after Benny Blanco spoke to Howard Stern about his relationship with the actress.
“It was so crazy,” he said about the relationship. “When we went out on our first date, I didn’t even know it was a date. She was like, ‘Hey, you wanna hang out?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah.’ We go and we hang out, and I remember we were talking.”
Blanco also described Selena Gomez as being the “coolest, nicest, sweetest, everything.”
“I remember sitting there, and she’s like, ‘Well, I would have worn something different for this date,’” the music producer recalled about their first date. “And I was like, ‘What? We’re on a date?’ And then before I know it, we’re hanging out the next day and the next day and the next day!”
Blanco then said that he doesn’t know a world where it could be better without Gomez. When asked if he was planning to propose, the music producer said he didn’t have anything purchased yet. “I don’t have anything. I’ve got no shoes on. I’ve got to get my act together.”
