Gomez captioned the post, “I’m sorry,” with an emoji of the Mexican flag. She then wrote in an Instagram Story post, “Apparently it’s not ok to show empathy for people.”
However, within a matter of minutes, the actress’ Instagram and Instagram Story posts were deleted.
According to CNN, the new Trump administration launched an “immigration enforcement blitz” nationwide. Immigration and Customs Enforcement reported that approximately 956 migrants were arrested and were heading toward deportation.
Along with ICE, officials from Justice Department agencies participated in the arrests. They targeted those who they say are “public safety and national security threats.”
U.S. Senate Candidate Sam Parker Declared ‘Deport Selena Gomez’ Following Her ICE Raids Criticism
Not long after Selena Gomez’s ICE raids criticism made headlines, U.S. Senate candidate Sam Parker demanded the born and raised American actress be deported.
“Selena Gomez picked illegals over America [because] she’s the 3rd gen descendent of Mexican illegals who received citizenship in the ’87 Amnesty,” Parker claimed on X (formerly Twitter). “She has an entitlement attitude toward America, like her illegal g’parents. Maybe Selena should be deported, too?”
In a separate X post, Parker continued to criticize Gomez, along with others who share a similar opinion to hers.
“I dragged Selena Gomez pretty hard today. But the truth is, I partially blame millions of White Americans for Selena Gomez’s attitude,” he wrote. “She identifies [with] another people [because she] doesn’t see America as anything more than an economic zone of monetary opportunity. That’s not really anything special to identify with, though, so of course she identifies w/her ancestral Mexico.”
Parker then stated that the actress is “no different from millions” of MAGA and conservatives who also don’t see any special identity associated with the U.S.
“It’s just a big marketplace of ideas [and] GDP, after all,” he continued. “Colorblind meritocracy! Like, wtf is there to even identify with? A piece of paper that says you’re ‘American?’ Get real.”
Parker then declared that he blamed “Mr. and Mrs. Offended MAGA American’ for Gomez’s “lack of American identity and loyalty.”
“Until you begin to understand what America is — WHO America is — people like Selena Gomez will never change,” he added.
Gomez has since responded to Parker’s remarks by writing in her Instagram Story, “Oh Mr. Parker, Mr. Parker,” she wrote. “Thanks for the laugh and the threat.”
