The dubbed “once-in-a-generation” snowstorm that hit Alabama transformed Orange Beach into a winter wonderland. Just after the snowstorm hit the Gulf Coast, the City of Orange Beach took to Instagram to share a video of the unique weather.

“Historic snowfall underway in Orange Beach, Alabama,” the post’s caption reads.
Many Instagram users took to the post to share their thoughts about the unusual weather.
“Crazy. Beautiful. We are here from Dallas!” one Instagram user stated. Another added, “Well we already had snow-white [sandy] beaches!! Lol, just warmer ones.”
According to Bama Buzz, the Gulf Sores were expected to get anywhere between four to six includes of snow. In a post on Jan. 21, the National Weather Service (NWS) Alabama Office in West Mobile, also confirmed the official measures were 5.4 inches. This broke the 1-day snowfall record for Mobile of 5 inches, which was recorded on Jan. 24, 1881.
“The all-time snow event record for Mobile is 6 inches in 1895. Given it is heavily snowing, that record is in jeopardy.”
The Gulf Coast Is Slammed With Snowstorm As the West Coast Continues Battling Weather-Driven Wildfires
As the Gulf Coast expected once-in-a-generation snow storms, the West Coast continues to battle weather-driven wildfires in the Los Angeles area.
The Palisades and Eaton FIres started earlier this month and have continued to spread around the Los Angeles metro area.
According to NBC Los Angeles, the Palisades Fire, which has destroyed more than 23,400 acres, is now at 77% contained, while the Eaton Fire is at 95% containment after decimating over 14,000 acres.
The Hughes Fire, which erupted in the Lake Castaic area on Wednesday, Jan. 22, is now more than 50% contained.
Fox News further reported that President Donald Trump traveled to Southern California on Friday, Jan. 24, to see the wildfires’ damage in person.
“Thank you first for being here. It means a great deal to all of us,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom said to President Trump after they met on the tarmac of LAX in Los Angeles. “We’re going to need your support. We’re going to need your help.”
President Trump then stated that he appreciated Gov. Newsom greeting him and said, “I think you’re going to see some very good progress” on the fire recovery.
“We want to get the problem fixed,” President Trump also observed. “It’s like you got hit by a bomb.”
The world leader, who began his second presidential term earlier this week, then added, “We’ll get it permanently fixed so it can’t happen again.”
