According to police, Buscemi was walking in the Kips Bay neighborhood at 11:50 AM on May 8. Around this time, a stranger attacked him, punching him in the face before running off. The news of his attack was first reported by the New York Daily News and New York Post.
The attacker was seen wearing a baseball cap, a blue t-shirt, black pants, and a pair of white sneakers. As of this time, no further details of the incident are available.
