In the scene, which plays out at the end of the trailer, the camera zooms out and shows Cruise hanging from a small yellow plane.
Not only that, but the aircraft is doing flips and spins in the sky. Cruise, who’s famous for doing his own stunts, manages to hang on the whole time.
While the trailer ends with the epic stunt, the rest of the preview is equally exhilarating. The tease of the movie, which is set to be released in 2025, shows car chases, as well as action scenes at sea, in the air, and underwater.
The underwater adventure as includes a kiss between Ethan and Grace, the latter of whom is played by Hayley Atwell.
All the while, narration teases what’s at stake for the characters this time around. Spoiler alert: it’s basically the fate of the whole world.
“For every life you try to save, you gamble millions more. Now the fate of every living soul on Earth is your responsibility,” a man says in the trailer. “That’s the pattern, isn’t it? You refuse to sacrifice the ones you hold close.”
Ethan can still fallback on his trusted pals though, as Ving Rhames’ Luther assures him, “You’ve always been on the right side, brother. I have no regrets, and neither should you.”
As for Ethan, he simply tells those calling the orders “I need you to trust me one last time.”
Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning will hit theaters May 23, 2025.
