Nancy MacKenzie, who is best known as the voice actress for Marge Simpson in the dubbing of The Simpsons in Latin America, has passed away at the age of 81. Although the cause of death remains unknown, sources stated that the actress passed away on Friday, June 14.

Patricia Acevedo and Claudia Motta, the actresses who voiced Lisa and Bart in the Latin American version of The Simpsons, announced the news about MacKenzie’s passing on Instagram.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce Simpson children Lisa and Bart the passing of our beloved mum Marge Simpson (Nancy Mackenzie),” Acevedo wrote in her tribute.
Nancy MacKenzie was born in Peru and moved to Mexico in her 20s. Her acting career spanned more than five decades. She did various voice acting roles and was the voice of Marge Simpson for the 15 seasons of The Simpsons. She appeared in numerous soap operas as well.
MacKenzie also provided the voice of many actresses, including Diane Keaton, Sigourney Weaver, and Bette Midler.
The Simpsons is currently in its 35th season and has been declared the longest-running animated series, sitcom, and scripted primetime series in American TV history. The show has more than 750 episodes.
‘The Simpsons’ Co-Stars Pay Tribute to Nancy MacKenzie
Humberto Vélez, the voice actor behind Homer Simpson also paid tribute to the late actress.
“[We spent] many hours together, working and traveling,” he wrote on Instagram. “A lifetime. Your passing hurts me very much, but I celebrate your love of life, of being free and living life fully. Thank you for always listening to me, for your unconditional support in the union problem that we go through together.”
Vélez also thanked Nnacy MacKenzie for all the laughs, debates, and trusts. “Thank you for transitioning with me this part of life. You were, are, and will be a fundamental part of the most important labor project of my work.”
He went on to add, “You are many things. You are my wife Marge.Thank you Nancy Makenzie.”
Fans praised MacKenzie for her talents. “What great sadness, you and Nancy are the voices of our fondest memories of film and television,” one fan wrote. “A huge hug from Chile and my deepest condolences.”
Another fan added, “What unfortunate news, her voice will remain in the history of dubbing, thank you Peru for giving us such a talented woman.”
Other animated voice roles that MacKenzie held were Cruella de Vil in Disney’s animated films, Daphne in Los Trece Fantasmas de Scooby-Doo, and Sailor Galaxia in the popular series Sailor Moon.
