Parents of the 19-year-old actress, Rob and Nicole Compton, set up a GoFundMe page, which detailed what led to her life-threatening accident. It was revealed that Nicole was traveling to Winnipeg to help Laverock after she suffered a “medical emergency” on May 11.
Nicole managed to arrive just in time to save her daughter’s life and transport her to a local hospital.
Mamie Laverock was later transported to a hospital in Vancouver, with her condition was then declared “unclear.”
In an update, Nicole and Rob stated that on May 26th, their daughter’s condition took a turn. “Mamie, who has been in intensive treatment for the past two weeks, was escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital and taken up to a balcony walkway,” they explained. “From which she fell five stories. She sustained life-threatening injuries, has undergone multiple extensive surgeries, and is currently on life support.”
The family didn’t share what led to the fall. They further shared they are all devastated and in shock. The GoFundMe’s target goal is $25,000 CAD. So far, more than 200 people have donated $15,000 CAD.
According to IMDb, When Calls the Heart is a series about Elizabeth Thatcher. She is described as a young schoolteacher from a wealthy Eastern family. She migrates from the big city to teach school in a small coal mining town in the west.
