In an update on Laverock’s GoFundMe campaign, her parents report that the 19-year-old has successfully completed major surgeries. They also reported that doctors now describe her as “doing well.”
“It’s impossible for us to be happier,” Mamie Laverock’s parents added. “Thank you all for your support.”
On May 11, Laverock faced a “medical emergency” necessitating her mother, Nicole, to travel to Winnipeg and take her to a nearby hospital. The young actress was then transferred to a hospital in Vancouver.
According to the GoFundMe campaign, her recovery status was “unclear” at the time, though she was “showing signs of improvement.” Rob and Nicole anticipated that her hospitalization could last “upwards of a month or more.”
Over two weeks later, the family shared a harrowing update about their daughter. Laverock fell five stories from a balcony walkway after being escorted out of a secure unit in the hospital.
She underwent multiple extensive surgeries to address her severe injuries and was placed on life support following the May 26 fall.
Laverock’s When Calls the Heart costars took to social media to promote the Comptons’ GoFundMe and share their heartfelt condolences.
“I love this family, my heart is broken,” Johannah Newmarch, who plays Laverock’s on-screen mother wrote on X. “A devastating time for all who care for Mamie. Please help if you can. They need all the support they can get to make it through this.”

Other members of the WCTH family, such as Ava Grace Cooper, Andrea Brooks, Loretta Walsh, and Mitchell Kummen, also wrote heartfelt messages of support.

The Comptons have amassed over 32,000 CAD in donations for their fundraiser so far.
