WWE legend Jeff Jarrett has nothing but praise for the former “babysitter” of his children, Taylor Swift.
During a recent interview with Nashville’s WREG, Jarrett opened up about how the then 17-year-old Swift babysat his daughters, Joslyn, Jaclyn, and Jerlyn, while his late wife, Jill Gregory, was battling breast cancer. Jill tragically passed away from the disease in 2007.
Jeff Jarrett shared that Taylor Swift is a “friend of the family” and was “very good” to his family during a “very, very dark period” for him and his three daughters.
“Taylor was like a big sister,” Jarrett shared. “She came over, took the girls baking cookies, and just hung out at the house. I can’t say enough good things about Taylor.”
Jeff Jarrett further joked about how Taylor Swift, a pop icon and now a 14-time Grammy winner, has “done pretty well for herself.”
“She’s just a sweetheart. I still call her ‘our girl’” Jarret continued to gush. “And now she’s up hanging in the NFL circles.”
Jarrett was referring to Swift’s relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. The couple has been dating for nearly a year and their relationship was a key topic during the 2023 NFL season.
Jarrett further noted that while Taylor Swift spent time with his daughters, she wasn’t on his payroll. “So, technically not a babysitter,” he noted.

Jeff Jarrett’s daughters’ bond with Taylor Swift extended past that difficult time. The former pro wrestler’s daughter Jaclyn appeared in the music video for Swift’s 2010 track “Mine,” which is on her third studio album, “Speak Now.”
While speaking to Instinct Culture in 2021, Jarrett gushed about how creative the music video was. “My daughter, Jaclyn, looked like a little Taylor,” he shared at the time.
Jeff Jarrett also said that Taylor Swift personally asked if Jaclyn could appear in the muisc video. “Taylor, being as bold as she always is, just said, ‘I want Jaclyn in the video,'” he recounted.
Jarrett further spoke about the music video’s production. ”You had to turn over your cell phone on set and all that stuff. It was a good experience for the kids.”
In regards to Taylor Swift’s success since then, Jeff Jarrett added, “Not only is she uber-creative as an artist, but she also thinks like a businesswoman. Those two skill sets combined, you rarely see. She deserves all the success she has.”
